(01) Problem
New students at ISL spent the first weeks asking the same five questions: where's room 204, when does break end, who teaches IB Math AA. The information existed but was scattered across PDFs, posters, and tribal knowledge.
(02) Build
Stitched together OpenAI Whisper for speech-to-text, GPT for question answering grounded on a small school knowledge base, and a TTS layer for voice responses. Ran on a single laptop in the school lobby.
(03) Result
Demoed to staff and used informally by curious students. Killed because privacy review was a separate project I didn't want to start in Year 12.
